About the password generator
This is a free password generator. Choose how long the password should be and which character types to include — lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols — then copy the result. You can skip look-alike characters and check the strength as you go. Everything happens in your browser, with no account and nothing to install.
Generated in your browser
The password is created on your device and never sent anywhere. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or saved, so the password you see is for your eyes only. Close the tab and it is gone — there is no history and no server copy.
Length and character types
Use the slider to set the length, and turn character types on or off to match where the password will be used. A longer password with more character types is harder to guess. At least one type stays on at all times, and the tool makes sure every type you pick actually appears in the result.
Avoid look-alike characters
Turn on the look-alike option to drop characters that are easy to confuse, such as the capital O and zero, or the lowercase l and the number one. This makes a password easier to read aloud or type by hand, at a small cost to the number of possible combinations.
How strength is measured
The strength meter estimates how many guesses a password would take, based on its length and the size of the character pool. More length and more character types raise the strength. As a rough guide, longer is almost always better than clever — a long password from a few character types beats a short one with everything turned on.
Using it well
A strong password only helps if it is unique to each account, which is hard to manage by memory. Most people pair a generator like this with a password manager that stores each password safely, so they never have to remember or reuse one. Generate, copy, and save it straight into your manager.
Generate again and copy
Every change to the length or character types updates the password right away, and the refresh button next to the field gives you a fresh one without touching the settings. When you are happy with it, press Copy and it goes to your clipboard, ready to paste into a sign-up form or your password manager.
