About the random name generator

This is a free random name generator. Generate full names, first names, or last names, in any number you need, then copy one or copy them all. Choose a style, set how many, and the names appear right away. Everything runs in your browser, with no account and nothing to install.

Choose what you need

Pick full names when you need a first and last name together, or switch to first names or last names on their own. Set the count with the slider to get a single name or a long list at once. Each time you generate, a fresh set is drawn from a broad pool, so the names keep changing.

Pick a style

Leave the style on any to mix freely, or narrow first names to a feminine or masculine set when you need a particular feel. Last names are shared across styles. The mix is random within whatever you choose, so two runs rarely look the same.

Use them anywhere

Random names are handy for filling test data and sample forms, naming characters in a game or a story, populating a design mockup, or seeding a spreadsheet. Instead of typing the same placeholder over and over, you get a varied list that looks real enough to test with.

Not real people

The names are built by combining common first and last names at random, so a result is not meant to refer to any specific person. Any match with a real individual is coincidence. That makes the list safe for demos and examples without using anyone's actual details.

Private by default

Everything happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or saved, so the names you generate are yours alone. Close the tab and the list is gone — there is no history and no server copy.

Copy one or copy all

Each name has its own copy button for grabbing a single result, and the copy-all button puts the whole list on your clipboard, one name per line. Paste them straight into a form, a sheet, or your code.

A fresh list every time

The names come from a broad pool of common first and last names, drawn with your browser's random source, so each run gives a different mix. Press Generate as many times as you like until a set fits, raise the count for a longer list, or lower it to a single name. There is no limit on how often you generate, and nothing repeats from one run to the next unless the pool is small.
