How do I set the range?

Can I generate several numbers at once?

Can I avoid repeats?

About the random number generator

This is a free random number generator. You set a range, choose how many numbers you want, and press Generate. The result appears at once and you can copy it with one click. The tool runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create.

Set a range

Enter a minimum and a maximum. The tool returns whole numbers from the minimum up to the maximum, with both ends included. The default range is 1 to 100, which suits most quick picks, but you can set any range you like — for a draw, a seat number, a test value, or a dice-style roll.

Get one number or many

Set how many numbers you need. For a single pick, you get one large, easy-to-read number. For several, the tool lists them together so you can scan or copy the whole set. You can ask for up to one thousand numbers at a time.

No repeats and sorting

Turn on No repeats when every number must be different — for example, when you draw winners from a numbered list and no one can be picked twice. Turn on Sort results to get the numbers in order from low to high. Leave both off for plain, independent picks where repeats are allowed.

How random is it

When your browser supports it, the tool draws from the browser secure random source and maps it to your range without bias. Where that is not available, it falls back to the standard pseudo-random generator. For everyday use — games, draws, sampling, picking an order — this is more than enough. For security keys, use a dedicated password generator instead.

Common uses

People use a random number generator for raffles and giveaways, for board and tabletop games, for picking a sample from a list, for assigning an order or a group, and for quick decisions when any fair pick will do. Because the tool keeps your input on your device, you can use it for private lists without sending anything away.

Whole numbers, both ends included

The generator returns whole numbers only, and both the minimum and the maximum can appear in the result. So a range of 1 to 6 can give any value from 1 to 6, just like a single die. If you need a number that never lands on the edges, set the range one step inside on each side.
